| On the weekend of November
17th/18th, World Gifts brochures were distributed in most of the Catholic
Churches in the Swindon Deanery. A number of Catholic Infant and Primary
schools will be participating too. Here's a photo of members of
the Swindon Deanery Justice & Peace Group stapling Virtual Village slips
onto World Gifts brochures in preparation for the weekend.

The small print: CAFOD will give us
totals each Tuesday of sales by each SN post code SN1, SN2 etc. We will
not have details at any level that would allow identification of
individuals. We include only the Swindon Deanery postcodes - we exclude
Chippenham and other SN postcodes outside our Deanery.
This is the third year in which the
Swindon Deanery J&P Group, together with members of the CAFOD team in
Swindon, have run a Virtual Village. Our thanks to CAFOD for the
original idea for the Virtual Village Project which came from an article
in CAFOD's Summer/Autumn 2005 Side by Side magazine. The article,
entitled "How your Christmas gifts changed the world," told how boys at
the London Oratory School created virtual villages to motivate
fundraising for World Gifts at the end of 2004. We also extend our
thanks to CAFOD for permitting us to use their World Gifts graphics on
our website.
Here's a copy of our poster advertising
the Virtual Village this year.
