Relationship Counselling:
The Wiltshire Centre has three trained relationship counsellors who offer
counselling from two venues in Swindon (see right.)
Marriage Care receives funding from both the government and from the Clifton
Diocese. It is Catholic by origin and inspiration and nearly all of its
counsellors nationally are Catholic, but it makes its services available to
anyone who needs them. It advertises in Yellow Pages and Thompson’s directory.
Its counsellors follow training very similar in depth and content to that of
Relate counsellors.
It costs Marriage Care about £35 to provide each hour of counselling even
though no counsellors receive payment for their time. Clients are encouraged to
contribute as their means allow towards the expenses of their counselling.
To arrange a first counselling session please call 0800 389 3801. Most
clients contract to see a counsellor for six sessions once the first session has
determined that counselling can be expected to help the problem described.
